En février 2007, deux professeurs et un groupe d'étudiants du Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema décollent vers le Burkina Faso pour passer 2 semaines à Ouagadougou, la capitale, pendant la 20e édition du FESPACO.
In February 2007, two teachers and a group of students from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema took off for Burkina Faso to spend 2 weeks in the capital city of Ouagadougou during the 20th edition of the FESPACO.

La ville fourmille avec l'excitation du festival, est pleine d'artistes et de marchands d'un peu partout en Afrique de l'Ouest, de touristes d'un peu partout dans le monde. Comme on dit au Quebec: "le party est pogné."
The city is steaming with excitment. Streets and festival sites are full of merchants and artists from everywhere in West Africa, and tourists from around the world abound. As we say in Quebec: "le party est pogné." The party's on!

Le FESPACO est le plus gros festival de cinéma panafricain du continent. Biannuel depuis 1969, il fête en 2009 ses 40 ans d'existence.
The FESPACO is the largest panafrican film festival of the continent. A biennale since 1969, it will turn 40 years old in 2009.

Grâce à mon stage en cinéma d'animation en partenariat avec l'institut IMAGINE, à Ouagadougou, la fin de mon séjour en mars coïncide justement avec la fermeture du FESPACO 09. Le hasard fait bien les choses ;)
Thanks to my film animation internship in partnership with the IMAGINE Institute in Ouagadougou, my march departure coincides with the closing of FESPACO 09. Talk about a coincidence ;)
